Q. and A. with Sean Casteel
By John Anthony Miller
Artist and owner of Phantom Bookshop, Ventura, CA
In an attempt to get a clearer picture of just who Sean Casteel is, I asked him some casual questions one day. At least they seemed casual at the time. I am not sure I found the answer.
John: When did you become interested in UFOs?
Sean: I had some very strange UFO-related experiences going way back for many years, but I didn’t realize at the time that UFOs were involved. After I read Whitley Strieber’s Communion in 1989, it changed my understanding of what had happened to me forever. I interviewed Whitley and Budd Hopkins shortly after that, and that gradually became the only kind of writing I did-things that involved UFOs and alien abduction.
John: Well, thanks for giving me some background on yourself. You certainly have made a unique niche in the field.
Sean: You’re welcome, John. You are a somebody!
John: Thank you, Sean. I've been grappling with the "somebody" issue for years. Perhaps someday we can discuss some of your songs and art. That can wait until our next interview---your phone is ringing...
